Hi Ben,

When I registered my new prop on your website, you asked that I let you know what I thought of the prop after using it.

I had switched out an 18 inch, three blade prop on my Hunter 40.5 for a 19 inch Autostream.  I noticed a difference in performance immediately.  When backing out of the slip, prop walk was gone.  In fact, one of the hardest things for me to do was to unlearn my habit of correcting for prop walk when backing.  With just a little nudge from the engine, the boat backs in a straight line with no corrective steering.  The boat will also stop quicker when coming back into the slip.  It is like hitting a brake.

The best part of the prop comes under sail.  Close hauled, I found that I was able to point better, and have a faster ride.  Under a steady 15 knot wind on a close reach, the boat was screaming along!  On our last trip over to Catalina Island, we were able to make better then 1.5 knots faster then what we got with the fixed blade prop.  In the past, I usually reefed at 25 knots of wind.  We were going so fast, that we reefed at 20 knots of wind, and were still going faster then what I could do with full sails and the fixed prop.  What a difference in performance!

And when you go down below while under sail, you can really tell the difference as well.  The first time I went down below under sail, the boat had an eerie whooshing sound.  It took me a moment to realize that what I was hearing was the water rushing by the hull.  What I was not hearing was the turbulence caused by the fixed blade.

I also want to let you know what a great job Gary at Martec is doing as your distributor.  After listening to how I use the boat, Gary recommended your prop highly.  Based on his recommendation, I made the purchase and had the prop installed on the next haul out.  Gary’s customer service before and after the sale was fantastic.  He walked me through all the steps and made sure I understood the procedures so I could make sure the yard installed the prop correctly.  And he was available to assist me and the yard if there was a problem.

From purchase to final usage, a great experience.  I have already recommended your product to several boaters on the dock.
