Hi Gary

Here's a report on the performance of the new Slipstream 3 blade folder
compared to the 2 blade Maxprop it replaced.

RPM Maxprop Slipstream
2000 5.7
2500 6.6
3000 7.1 (max)

RPM Slipstream
2000 5.7
2500 6.7
3000 7.2
3250 7.5 (max)

The difference was much more marked than these numbers would suggest. The
Maxprop started vibrating and making noise at 2000 RPM, and started
overloading the engine causing black smoke at 2800. The Slipstream was
totally smooth and dead silent throughout its range, and we did not get
black smoke until about 3200.

We tried a crash stop from 7 knots. Full reverse stopped us in 2-1/2
boatlengths, not especially inspiring, but good enough. When the boat is
moving in reverse, the prop is plenty powerful.

The prop is a great success. The owner wanted minimum noise and vibration
while powering at a good speed, and that's exactly what the Slipstream

With thanks for a splendid product, almost (but not quite) too beautiful to

Eric Lambert
