Subject: Attention: Mary New Stainless Folder on Willie J

Mary,
I am finally able to report back on our propeller experience. We have your newest stainless steel folder on our J130 Willie J.

We have had our prop on for 350 miles of racing and 300 miles of motoring. The longest day of motoring ever was 14 hours into a head wind and large steep choppy seas seeing 16-18 knots true wind and squalls with higher winds.

The propeller is exceptional, very smooth at most all RPM and really puts the power to the water in docking manoeuvres.

Some notes...

Compared to the Max-Prop and Flex-o-Fold we have had on the boat this is by far the smoothest running propeller we have used on this J130

Compared to the Max-Prop we have a little less reverse thrust and compared to the Flex-o-Fold this is hands down superior in reverse.

We can back up at over 5 knots and make quite a stern wave.

In reverse the new stainless prop is super smooth, really no impact when changing from forward to reverse either.

At 2200-2300 RPM we are running at about 7.4-7.5 knots
At 2700-2750, we are 7.9-8.0 knots
At 3200 we are at 8.4 knots
At 3400 RPM, we are running the smoothest at 8.5-8.6 knots and the prop is not vibrating at all
Max RPM is 3500 RPM at 8.7 knots in smooth water.

Above numbers are with a clean bottom and full load of supplies 20 gallons of Fuel and 60 gallons of water for a long distance race and delivery crew (3).

Thanks, we hope to meet you at Strictly Sail in Chicago this winter.
